Thank you, everyone, for the very kind comments.
Unfortunately, the eye is immediately drawn to the bright area in the top third.
There may have been more interesting pictures among the various piles ofclutterartefacts.Thank you so much, Kent. It really was a wonderful experience; the birds in the photograph represent only a fraction of the whole flock and, when they swirled off along the coast, it was a breath-taking sight. One of the occasions where I was cursing the fact that I only has a 300mm with 2x converter on the camera, as we were hunting for yellow browed warblers (which we never found).
Tens of thousands of knot, swooping in over the coast at Gibraltar Point, Lincolnshire, UK, on a misty morning with wind turbines in the background. Sorry about all the edits, couldn’t get the picture to load.
Coming from a litho printing background, I have been using Macs from Day One and love their functionality and speed. One exception … I find the screen of my current iMac 27″ too bright and the colours too sharp, so I piggy-back a fully calibrated Eiso monitor on to it, which I use for checking colour, brightness etc. before printing.
Sharpness works well for a handheld shot.
The colours look too harsh and a bit overdone.
Flowers and clouds are gentle little things …I think it falls between two stools, Anne.
Either pull back a bit and give more emphasis to the figure or move in closer and go abstract.Love your picture.
