Gorgeous colors! I can literally smell the autumn.
These look great, David. I love the yellow and blue combo.
Hi Julie, I like how you framed the temple with leaves and trees!
I agree that Rob’s crop is great. I would also increase the exposure a bit.

Yeah, Gorillapod is super practical for such shots, @martye it would be a great addition to your gear.
I don’t even know what this is!
The third image is such a gorgeous sight! The blue of the lake looks even bluer thanks to these poppies.
Hi Marty, as a younger person on board here and as someone who is trying to understand trends and judging in photo competitions, I can tell you there are certain things that judges usually don’t favor, and selective desaturation is one of them. I’m not sure why, maybe the technique has been overdone at some point, just like HDR. Also, I noticed that some competitions have clear guidelines on what you can and can’t do in post-processing, especially when it comes to street and candid photography. While I can’t tell you what’s the exact reason your photo didn’t take place, it could be due to the things I mentioned. I also agree with Frank, winning images usually have very strong emotional or storytelling content.
Hi Marty, yes, it’s definitely fine. I think the shot would look great without reflections too, but we can’t know for sure đŸ™‚
I agree with Beth, right in camera usually refers to the right exposure.
You’re welcome. Let me know if this happens again, but it should be fine for now.
You’re welcome đŸ™‚
