      Thanks @Tonyb55. Where do you find high pass sharpening? I use ACDSee and have just downloaded Photoshop but have not used it yet.

              right the shadows are remnants of a branch that i removed from the background which is otherwise real. and it was sharpened to 25 with a radius of 8. i was hoping the eye would make the overall focus of the image more to the rule of thirds. appreciate your comments.

                thanks. the green is an out of focus plant in the background and got an odd look with lighting adjustments. i agree that it is distracting. this was shot as portrait and cropped to its present shape.
