Thank you Tersha and Oly.
Oly… I understand your point… but I like to break the rules. I am always outside the box. lolwow… what a mess… must have been so frightening
DOH…. never mind…. I remember now
I cant post an image in the message…. what I am doing wrong???
ok…. for some reason that did not work… so I will just have to post this way.
welcome Liza :)… this is the place to be!
more like a painting… tho there is a wonderful sense of depth.
The “post” like tree stump in the immediate foreground is totally distracting. I realize that we cant avoid some things but if you were to clone this out, I believe that would be a good step toward a nicely balanced scene.I have your mind right here Nikon Nut… I am assuming that your forgot you gave to me some time ago.
Seriously now… This photo …obviously a street shot… would look so cool in BW and slightly over exposed as NN suggested.yes…I am definitely going to explore that option 🙂
EVERYTHING Caimi said. In my opinion, and I know that I don’t follow the rules…. the subject IS the random nature of the leaves. Everything in nature has a chaotic and colorful pattern. Unfortunately, most people are bound by expectations and so they assume that a natural and random experience is nothing to capture the intention or explain the intent.
One has to think in an abstract frame of mind, before we condemn a subject as a waste of time. Of course I do understand that some people just DON’T think that way. And that in itself is just a fact of who we are in our individual and subjective opinion.OK…. so… cameras.

ermmm thank you guys.
I use a whole bunch of stuff. I am sleepy right now, so I will come back later when I have figured out what it all is that I use.
Adrienne…. wow… and in BW too. If I may say something here… with my flowers…even tho somne of the elements such as the bee are not an issue with my flowers… I use a small aperture such as F18 to f22. I also use a DOF guide to set up the camera at the right distance so that I have an adequate DOF to capture everything. We all have our own approach to these things of course.
In the case of waiting for the bee to approach etc… I am just saying that with adequate DOF you would not bee [pun intended] worried about AF messing you up. Then of course there is the problem with having adequate lighting.
Just sayin’ aka my 0.02good timing Ed. I dont suppose she shared???
Thank you for your views/input folks 🙂
The ultimate “sourkraut” is a paranoid old b**** who ran up to me screaming one day, how it was SO wrong that I sit in front of a cafe taking photos of people walking by. I explained… in an equally demeening manner… assuming that is what she would relate to… that to begin with I was actually on PUBLIC space even tho the chairs are in front of the establishment, and as such I have the right to photograph anyone. I went on to explain that as long I don’t violate an individual’s right to reasonable privacy, which one does NOT have in a public place, I have every right… just like you have the right to make a fool of yourself lady, by exemplifying your ignorance of the law.
The point being, if someone is tweeting, and looking at you, this does not constitute objection on their part. Your uncertainty made that assumption, and you added to it by assuming that you needed to explain yourself. Unless you are directly confronted, Ed, there is no need for you as an artist, to feel uncomfortable about what you are doing.agreed… the patterns in her fur appear different in BW
and in addition…. your “commuter studies” are not glum. I l;ike how you connect with your subjects through your lens to provide the viewer a moment in time thru your eyes
