looks like I was wrong oops my monitor had been reset some how, after looking at the crop I done it looks fine. So sorry about that.
it’s more like pixelization than blemishes
I think this is the only way I can show you
https://flic.kr/p/BhW1R7It’s a lovely image but I can only just notice the magenta in the lower part of the sky. You do have quite a bit of noise, try using a de-noise at 10% then blend the detail back in on the tree using layers.
Just to let you know that you have blemishing in the black right side above his shoulder and head. Great shots by the way.
I agree with Irene the candle does nothing for the image. Would look a lot better without. If the candle was situated bottom middle right side and was a fatter candle I feel it would of added to the image.
I’m not sure if you can retake the image again without the candle in that way you can use the background of that image to delete out the glow by layering in Photoshop.
I like the second photo. Like already mentioned the colour in the sky needs to be changed. I also think it is too over sharpened. I would use De-noise to smooth the image out then add detail back in using a layer.
November 4, 2014 at 10:09 am in reply to: "Is It Real or IS IT HDR?" [DISCUSSION OF THE DAY] #160638I love toadies work and he does some amazing effects on which I would love to know how he goes about it after using photomatix but I don’t blame people if they don’t want to share their technique and I’m for one hate asking ๐ Jimmy McIntyre is another great HDR user but instead of using photomatix he uses layers and luminosity masks, something I myself should start doing again. So sorry @caimi it’s gone of topic.
I think HDR is a touchy subject for some people. As being an Instagram HDR editor for almost 2 years I’ve got to learn that their is not just one style of HDR. Whether it’s liked by one or not. We all know what the purpose of HDR was (or at least should do) but some like to go beyond the norm and give an image a 3D type of look or a dirty look, the range goes on. I agree about the shadows sometimes makes an image but also can break an image. I find normal photos to be a little flat and bland sometimes. If you get a chance to use Instagram and look for the HDR community I’m sure they would have the same opinion as myself. But bare in mind that some of the edits done on Instagram used JPEG to edit for challenges.
I believe their are diffrent styles of HDR and diffrent ways to go about editing an image now that digital has taken over and a lot more people are becoming more creative in using it to either make a normal HDR look or to go beyond. I think some people don’t like the change in Photograthy. We all have diffrent taste in food so why not make room for diffrent techniques in Photography whether liked or not.
Tom Dinning my ass and even if you are who gives a fuck? Grow up ya mug.
Maybe a good way of finding someone to edit you’re photo is to look at their photo album and see if they have the ability to do what you ask for as a lot of people on here hold back their photos and leave us all questioning.
Hi Rob @admin thanx for the question ๐ the reason was at the time of taking the shot I was using Instagram and it was always going to be a HDR photo, taking a 3 bracket shot hand held (not recommended). This shot was back in March time when I first go my camera or around that time. My outlook on HDR maybe differ to others and I think their are different styles of HDR, some being a natural look and going through the ranges of being cartoonish to artistic HDR (HDA) high dynamic art. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea but to be honest I quite like most of the different type of styles ๐
Very nice @natew great capture and PP ๐
that’s a very beautiful shot and goes to show you don’t need a top end camera to capture such beauty. I have nothing to offer as a critique.
Oh come on @thedingo that was a little harsh lol it’s a photo not a person. Attacking like that won’t get you anywhere. What is it you want to hear? What was you trying to portray? The PP is good that was why I suggested what I did about putting a shrunk woman in the frame, it’s called art but other than that their is nothing else going for the image for some people but if you like it then that’s all that matters.
There is an icon on you’re desktop that is useful, it’s called a trash can.
Regards.Hi @beautythroughalens welcome to Light Stalking. One bit of advice I can give you as a new photographer myself is too try and train you’re eye to what works and what doesn’t. Looking into you’re viewfinder and trying to picture what the image is going to look like before shooting it. Harder to do on moving subjects that’s why practicing helps.
Getting to know you’re camera is the most important part of all, knowing what settings work and what don’t. Learning from scratch is the best way rather than just jumping straight into taking pot luck images.
There was a time when I first got my camera I would go out shooting everything and anything to practice but before I did that I done a lot of reading on Photograthy and read a lot about the camera I was getting. But now I try to wait for the right time to take my photo and don’t rush them as time is key to getting a good photo.
Do a lot of research on ISO, exposure, composition, depth of field and rule of third as this will help big time also look at other peoples photos as that will help with how composition works and how some don’t and with what style of photography you want to learn.
Hope this helps.
Regards.I’m guessing it was taken in a garage of some kind of tar pulling but looks great though ๐
Just a thought @admin Some other forums send out emails to non active members of a year and if no response to the email they get deleted. You should have that setting on you’re server.
lol ok I’ll try. I love the Image but looking at this enlarged it looks a little soft. It looks as though you have focused on the middle part of the flower rather than the whole thing. Removing the red blotch in the right bottom corner would take away the detraction. Could you please post your exif settings when posting ๐
