I’m also with Lisa & Chase. First instincts are the first one with higher saturation of colour and contrast, but actually on reflection I prefer the second. For me it comes down to how the light makes me feel. The first I feel like its that moment when the sun is just tipping below the horizon and it’s just got cold, time to go indoors. The second one feels like the sun is still up just enough to feel its warmth on my face, a much more comforting thought now winter is coming. Maybe I would feel different in the summer when the days were light for longer.

Hope that isn’t too much of a ‘hippy’ thing to say!!

No way!! It’s a Lotus Exige, possibly one of the best drivers cars EVER!!! And British made! Just not particularly practical or comfy on a day to day basis. Done it for 6 years, time for a change, and more cylinders and more power!!!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

OOh, Cars, Yes love them!!! After overcoming the aftermath of getting married a month ago, I dusted off the old girl and took some piccies of my beloved car – we’re selling it so it inspired me to have a go at night photography/light painting – something I haven’t tried before. I had a feeling it would show off the colour quite well.

I was quite pleased with the results for a first attempt, so might try again another night somewhere more spacious than the garden before someone takes him away! Also a great excuse to borrow some friends cars too ๐Ÿ™‚
It was quite exciting running around in the dark with a torch and remote control!! he he.

Oh man, I picked a bad time to come out of hiding and make my comeback speech! Not to worry! IT gremlins are the worst kind, I deal with them regularly.
                  Hope it’s all tickety-boo now ๐Ÿ™‚

A friend loaned me their macro lens which was great to have a play with – I’ve always wanted a macro so it was good to try one before spending money. This is from my set of turned ‘widgets’ – random machined metal parts that my dearest fiance makes at work and brings home!

This is what they call knurling, a cross hatch pattern I guess to give a grippy surface, up close and personal.

                      Knurling

also with the borrowed macro lens – I took advantage of some gorgeous morning sunshine coming through my window before dashing off to work and returning the lens:

Bit busy at the moment, haven’t been able to take many piccies, house purchase and wedding looming, all in the space of 2 months….gulp!

And the other interpretation is this. A hand-built Jaguar C-Type (replica) by a dedicated man. He’s sat in the passenger seat this time – maybe for the first time, allowing my other half to drive it. This is them turning out into the road for a swift blat!

                          A Jag in it's day

Maybe how it would have looked in an original photo back in the day when this car was new (1950’s).

These artefacts are a result of turning metal on a lathe. My other half is an engineer and comes home with these random objects that he’s made – consequently I have a large bowl of them making an interesting alternative to pot puri!! I think they are beautiful in a precision kind of way!

Call me dim, but the last couple of photos of the week were ones that weren’t posted on the actual POTW thread, that I could see anyway.

Do you assess all photos added throughout the week that fall under the POTW topic, even if posted elsewhere?

I’m intrigued, and I like to ask questions ๐Ÿ˜‰
