I, like a few of you, like a good argument. I especially like arguing with Ash. He has a sharp mind and is full of emotionally charged opinion. That’s who he is. And we knew that. Some of us have even expressed appreciation for it.
I have a rule for myself that I try to always follow… ‘above all, be kind’. That’s who I am and people appreciate it. BUT I don’t expect others to follow MY rules. I certainly don’t expect Ash to. That would prove me insane.
I understand the desire to protect @doyle from what would appear to be an attack out of nowhere. I’ve been ‘attacked’ by Ash in the past. Others defended me when there was no need to do so. We were able work things out quite nicely without ever agreeing on our opinions.
I’ve taken time over the past year to get to know Ash (as much as he would allow) and was definitely not surprised by his comments. Some of the comments made to him, on the other hand… WOO!
Ash is who he is. There is no need for us to diagnose him. He, like the rest of us, gets through life with the tools he’s been given. No, he is not the kindhearted, compassionate human being we all like to hang with but if he doesn’t belong here with the rest of us ‘crazies’, where does he belong?Dammit. I have an opinion.

Where have I been? This is all so funny!!
I’d like to talk more about the ‘it’s not the gear’ thing. I’m definitely on board with that concept and really enjoy going back to a p+s when it is capable of capturing what I’m after. On the other hand, had I come to this site and asked what dslr I should purchase and heard, “it’s not the gear”, I would still have purchased the dslr and would have never regretted it. I felt that I needed it. I can see now that I could have done a whole lot of my learning without it but I have to say, “I love my gear!” And so do you.
OK, I feel balanced again. Anybody feel like trying to tip me over??Where have I been? This is all so funny!!

Tom has created a storm inside me that won’t quell. On the one hand, I am very appreciative of all the kindness you people have always shown me here at LS and feel the same about your comments here. Thank you!
On the other hand I hope you are not all fooled by Tom’s manipulative ways. His words are honest and I must accept his pat on my back but open your eyes. Would Tom ever choose this photo without selfish motives?
