      When you do you won’t regret it. It’s the sharpest lens I own, and the cheapest(other than the kit lenses.) I use it for my portrait shoots. If I switch lenses I CAN see the difference. But there’s nothing like a good tripod, either! I got the 50, my husband got a tripod, lol!

        I LOVE LOVE LOVE my 50mm for portraits, and for flowers, bugs, interesting DOF shots. It’s not as stealthy when shooting around a party, however, but you can get some great detail shots, too. If all you want is some portraits and people don’t mind you shooting them, it’s great. But sometimes you get that “Get out of my face!” person and the lens you shoot with makes stealth shooting a bit better. Because even if that person doesn’t want their picture online, perhaps the person throwing the party would still like a nice memory of them being there. I switch between lenses a bit. And I think you did a great job!
