A friend of mine told me that when shooting in raw format, the “in camera” histogram is not a true representation of that raw image. He told me that the “in camera” histogram is in fact a representation of the jpeg image, which of course is fine if shooting in jpeg. My friend therefore advised […]

I came across what I thought was an interesting project that is asking for volunteers from around the world to submit photographs showing a day in their life on 15th May. Apparently, the images will be used for historical purposes and future research. The link is: http://www.aday.org/

Great shot Lisa. I like the way the rails lead your eyes to the ‘ghostly’ images. I don’t recall seeing a shot quite like it. Well done.

My granddaughter was sitting on my wife’s knee when her attention was attracted to birds squabbling in the garden over food. A bit of vignetting to spotlight her face and the use of the clone tool to remove my wife’s arm and hand supporting the baby resulted in the final image. Settings: 85mm 1/4000s at […]

I am currently on a photography course. The task last week was to produce an image of forced perspective. Anyway, during the lesson, me and my fellow students (in fact they like to call us learners nowadays) were instructed to go into the local streets with our cameras and come back to the classroom with […]

Canon have now responded. This is what they say: It depends. If you have an EOS-film SLR, then all lenses will be EF, and they will all fit onto any digital SLR. If you have an older film camera, such as the Program AE1, then it will have an FD-mount, and none of the lenses […]

Thanks Tom. Yes, I was expecting to lose some functions but as long as what I am shooting isn’t moving about, I should be OK.
Of course with the modern DSLR, I won’t have the split viewfinder screen to help with focusing (if you remember those).
Still awaiting response from Canon.

rhombus uploaded a new picture: Woman In Road 11y, 11mo ago
Another image for my creative photography task. This is obviously motion blur. I took a series of high speed continuous shots in Oxford Street, London as the bus passed by and was pleasantly surprised to see this image of the woman standing in the middle of the road amongst the series of shots. Accidental but I'm still claiming it!! Shame that…[Read more]
