Sounds like wolf spiders, they run down their pray and are venomous, nothing like your spiders though, this one was a baby, maybe the legs had an inch circumference, big ones have a 6 inch.

All the “Stair Steps” in this waterfall are really interesting.

I have a shot similar to this you would probably like Diane, I was actually photographing this weird rock I saw under the water, after getting it home and looking at it full size I realized it was a frog laying on the bottom amongst the rocks.

A much closer view or tighter crop on the bottom one and its definitely abstract, could resemble a white beard. Are these milk weed, its a common plant in Wyoming that looks very similar.
