Those are really great suggestions, @robertapple  I really love how you made the color of the barn “pop”…it helps emphasize that area of the photo. I’m still getting the hang of adjusting curves, so I’ll play around with that a bit more. I’m also getting rid of the electrical pole! Thank you everyone for such wonderful suggestions! You’ve all taught me so much about what I can do to edit this photo, and what I can do better next time when shooting. 🙂

Thank you both so much for your feedback. Unfortunately, having more space on both sides wasn’t a (visually appealing) option. 🙁 I will definitely try shooting from a lower perspective next time-great idea. I hadn’t thought of that. Also, great idea to remove the electric pole. I had questioned doing that, and I think I will go ahead and do so. I also really, really love the black and white look, personally. I kept it in color because I’m hoping to print and frame this photo to give to the owner of this property and barn. The barn has sentimental value to him, and I think he’d really appreciate having the photo in color. (Sorry, I should have mentioned that in my original post.) I’ll also try a lower exposure next time too! I really appreciate the feedback!

          Greg,

It’s been on my wish list for a while now to own a macro lens. I am always fascinated by the details that can be caught using a lens such as this vs what the human eye can see. I believe I read that you live in the midwest?? I would love to see some snowflake photos if you get any! 🙂 Due to not personally owning a macro, I don’t have a ton of experience. My limited experience using one has taught me that a tripod will become your best friend to this lens! 😉
