I think we are back with the first one. Lol!
Nice job here too but I prefer the first one because of the impact the top of the tree has against the clouds. I couldn’t tell about noise. If there is any, it seems quite tolerable.
This is a real pretty photo. I agree that the bench needs some wear and tear or be darkened somehow. An inverted s curve could help with that. I would also follow on the suggestion to crop and I would do it from the top right bringing the photo to a 2×3 format. I can live without the path. That would help decentralize the bench a little.
A little more post-editing and you should have yourself a real nice photo.
Wow this is pretty Lisa. I really like the first one even if it has a strong magenta hue. In the second one you’ve lost all of the details of the background. A shame. It might not be as real as the second one but what is wrong with surreal????
Beautiful Simon. This is a dead tree that clearly salutes the sunset a last time before becoming deadwood on the shore. Another one for the printer.
I think your photo would really benefit from a little desaturation. You are a little overboard on the gamut scale. It would also add some subtleties to the colors.
I like the second one very much and mostly because there is a face to look at. A tail would have been nice also on the first one.
Love pink and blue sunset. This is a case where you could have used more foreground and a center of interest. The sky could have been it but the junction of the the two hills on either side of that opening with the view on the horizon takes away from it. This junction becomes the center of interest and there is nothing to look at. The reason it attracts the eyes is because this is where your highest contrast is. Maybe if you were to lower the contrast and the light, the sky would be able to take over.
If it were mine, I would clone some trees to block that area and then crop from top left corner down to the top of the first large tree limb on the right.
Real nice shot. Like it a lot. I would also lighten up the dark area in the lower right corner or simply clone in some other stones. And I would go with the suggestions above. That strong selenium filter you used is perfect to render your ominous cloud even more ominous. Well done.
Nice shot Simon. I like it a lot. That’s real cute!
I think there is way too much teeth! But I guess he is laughing all the way to the Bank….I suppose he wants to be seen as the real friendly, jovial, trustworthy kind of executive, like the friendly guy next door.
I don’t mind the top part but the lower half should be much darker or desaturated. All that light stops me from jumping on the bridge and go visit that nice district.
Sorry Diane but cropping out that exiting woman will cut the sunbrella in half and it wouldn’t look very nice. I personally think she balances out the other people that are mostly on the right.
My only suggestion would be to select the inside of the bank and increase very slightly the light. Otherwise, it is a fine street scene.
Ya! Now you’ve got yourself a photo and not a snapshot!
Very well done Chrissie. I like the direction of your light and your chiaroscuro which is not entirely black. My only suggestion would be for a colder background. A note on colors – cold recede and warm advance. So if you were to use a colder background – like blue or purple – you would increase the depth of your still life.
Much better. Still a little dark but could be my monitor. Glad you enjoyed your first experience in the Shark Tank.
Well Sean, since every one seems to be enjoying a ‘stab’ at your photo, here is what I had in mind. Might be a little abstract but then again this is what I saw. I like your high key take on it njk000 and nice to see you back in the tank.
Very beautiful Chrissie. I like it a lot. I would however crop a little from the lower left. As is it seems to be floating in emptiness. I would also increase structure very slightly if you can just to give the background a little detail to actually ground your leave. By increasing structure it should also increase the highlights a little.
Ditto with the crop above. Very nice Valery.
Kind of drab. Should have waited for some nice reflections in the water. Try something more abstract as suggested by Erik.
You need a severe crop on this one Lenny. Left and right to the rough-iron balcony, down to above the arch and below I let you decide. Lol!
If the mystery is with the woman, you don’t need all the extra architectural details.
