This shot for me would sit comfortably next to any ansel adams Mono Landscape image , i think it would look magic at about a meter tall on a plain white matt wall

thanks.  i got lucky with the light hitting the rocks in the overlook where i was.  i hadn’t planned out where the light would hit as the sunset since it was supposed to be storming.

thanks.  shot on the side of the road at one of the pull outs east of logan pass.  on a large print you can see the visitors center and all the cars in the parking lot pretty well.

For all the shots i have seen of this waterfall , this must be one of the best focal ranges  /framing i have seen yet , normally the shot is further back and wide or tourist are some place in front wearing bright color coats.

you don’t see this comp. often cause the right side is normally filled with people who just stand around and don’t move until it’s their turn to get their cookie cutter shot.  so you move further away and shoot wide to minimize them and their brightly colored jackets.  or get the same yellow jacket by the waterfall shot that everyone else gets.

this shot was done with a lot of patience and me and another photographer (getting a very similar shot to mine) working together to move the groups of people around while we locked in the shutter buttons on the remotes.  i can easily remove people in post if they’re moving around.  it was also a stormy day so there weren’t as many groups of tourists around.
