@astaroth, and @beverley, thanks for the comments, it was interesting working with snails…..in some ways easier than other insects because they move much slower, but, like, @astaroth, said, difficult because of the distance between the eyes and the rest of the body….but it was a lot of fun!
and, @oldhook, they may look better on a black…[Read more]

Thanks @beverley. Yes, I was so happy with the bokeh! I am thinking of trying with a speed light next time on these backlit shots. Especially with this black faced chickadee. I wonder if the flash will freak them out?? I guess I will just have to experiment. Check It Out

Welcome to the forum Keith @jellytoes… We’re not a creepy bunch so we don’t mind being followed and following others.
The way to fix it is pretty simple, and only really needs five mouse clicks. Find a thread that interests you with some interesting comments from users then below the other users avatar (picture on the left) click the FOLLOW…[Read more] -

@dchester1001, @beverley, @karamen, @kerriebowles, yes it was all a bit stressful for a while.
The smoke did get a bit coser but by that time my camera was packed in the car along with a heap of other stuff ready to make a run for it. It got to within a few minutes of us but luckily the wind changed, and blew it away from us. Many others didn’t…[Read more] -

@beverley It is a great magazine, I love the look and the feel of it. Tim was exactly the same in the flesh as he is in his column, he knows his stuff and was a geniunely nice man.
I think they will be in the March/April edition released towards the end of March…hopefully anyway 🙂Check It Out

I appreciate your sentiments Bev @beverley.
There are a number of ideas worth investigating here, one especially that has been bothering me for some time.
Do we strive to know too much? I know the general population is hell bent on calling themselves ‘learners for life’ and knowledge is everything, but I wonder. Is it really, and do we need…[Read more] -

There’s a crowd gathering.
Hi Susan @susan and Bev @beverley and Yvonne @evn1ngstar. Good to see the usual suspects.
I was hoping to get some reaction from the new young guns but they are ignoring me, as usual. Like Nigel, they can’t be told. They know it all. Nigel even asked for chips with his dinner. Really! As for photography, he still…[Read more] -

Thanks @mikell and @beverley! It’s fun, and you have all been so very helpful. It’s great to have more experienced eyes to look at your stuff. I will work on your suggestions, and I think I will try some portraits with it, too, as @redman recommends.
