@tobiepsg Thank you for your comment! I appreciate you taking the time!
@leeandy The difference in tones is purely from post-processing. I’m also experimenting with new techniques in PS so thus the variations. Thanks for your feedback, too! 🙂 Check It Out -

@valeryp thanks! you’re the only person I know currently who has any knowledge about this genre so I’m happy to get your perspective! Just because our results don’t match our vision yet doesn’t mean the knowledge isn’t there. Your style is very different from mine – more classically inclined and technically rigid – but I want to know that part…[Read more]

I agree… I see what you’re trying to do with the framing but with the flowers on the other side of the stem it makes the viewer feel like they’re on the wrong side of the image. Great colours and rim light though!!Check It Out

I really like both the bw and the colour versions. The only thing is the white outline around things in the bw… it’s a little disconcerting… looks more like an illustration or cartoon than a photograph… which is fine, just not my taste… But, then why is only half the tree outlined? I spend more time thinking about the treatment of the…[Read more]

@valerieP Thank you! I’m happy you like the lighting. 🙂 yes, this is shot with the camera directly above. And, I can see what you mean, that the leather cushion would be good as a backdrop for a larger scene.
@falx and @caimi yeah, liked the bit of texture it added, and I thought the lines kind of worked with the arrangement. 🙂

This is great info! I always use my in-camera meter and take a few shots but I would love to be able to “read” a scene. Now, I wonder how many times I’ll have to re-read this post before it all sticks in my brain…… lolllCheck It Out

I love the light and I love the cat’s expression! Great colours. too. I don’t know, my first thought is that the pillows are really distracting and that the cat should be more to one side or the other… but with the look he/she’s giving dead center kinda works with it. I just think it would be better with a cleaner background. Great rimlight,…[Read more]

I like it a lot! I love that they’ve done that! Is that common for your area? I’ve not seen it elsewhere in Mexico or here in Costa Rica. If it were me, I would try a re-shoot but completely dead-on to the front, and in the center of the house…. maybe it’s just me but something about it makes me feel off-kilter… then again, maybe the…[Read more]

Natasha Heredia replied to the topic Dragonfly in the forum The Shark Tank Feedback Forum 10y ago
In PS I would try darkening down the white and dragonfly with burning; cos most of him is see-thru and behind him is white it’s hard to see. If you darken the veins in his wings and bring down the highlights it might be better. You can use the sharpening tool as well, just on him, that with the darkening, and a tighter crop, could make a big…[Read more]

It’s actually a leather sofa cushion with a piece of acrylic overtop. It was the best option for a dark background that I had at the time…… Is it very distracting?Check It Out
