True, it’s almost cartoonish, I’ll abandon this one.

First and foremost a very impressive shot, Apple ought to be impressed with what they’ve done. I however agree that the main subject which is the crashing waves are not noticeable owing to the strong sun rays, but the more I think about it, maybe it works for the photo, almost like a painting that has a story more impressive to see when you look…[Read more]

First and foremost the positives I can see in the photo:
1. Great choice in scenery and timing, The clouds and the angle of the shot are lined up perfectly, it makes me want to stare and the photo forever. The only negative I pick from the photo is – and you are correct to think so, the foreground I think the reeds and trees to the left sort…[Read more]

I decided to tempt fate and take another one tonight, not much difference apart from an overall improvement in Sharpness and Light, This is difficult to do without a tripod. I’ll shelve this till I get one. I did adjust the ISO to the Minimum 100 and tried to expose for 10 seconds, 40 will be too hard to keep my hand steady and I doubt my camera…[Read more]

The dark compound you are looking at is an Administrative police compound which contains half finished construction houses. The…[Read more]

@Caimi, I’ve inserted the larger photo below, with regards to your question about the focus it was more on the illumination of the light to the construction site which is the lower part of the photo. I guess then my focus was mostly on the darker spots….. burning the Sky in LR? what does that mean?

@kagey1 I think your initial shot was perfect, it brings out the old age of the trucks much much more than the black and white. This is just my personal opinion, else this is a wonderful composition.
