This is a really neat shot! I think maybe I would just take some off the left. This looks like an old faucet… I love the reflection in the droplet!
I like this and think if you cropped both sides to tighten it up it would give it the feel of really being on the path.
This reminds me of watercolors, I very much enjoy it. I know that was not really constructive and for that I apologize. đŸ™‚
Thank you @Falx! I also have this one with a different background and I am at eye level.
Memphis2 by mcove26 on Light StalkingThank you that was very helpful! I will look into Gimp and see if I can maybe do a free PS trial to see how I like it!
And thank you @Kricht47!
@Yumarena I am currently using picasa. I do not have too much experience with editing software. I have always kept it minimal.
What do you recommend? I do wish to get more comfortable with more editing styles.
Awesome! Yeah you should see what you can get of his entire body dancing in the late afternoon light! I think it has potential to tell much more of a story seeing his dancing and set-up in this busy city! Just my personal opinion though!
Yea I don’t know, I think I just may not use this photo. I just kept going back to it wondering if it did anything for me and couldn’t decided. This is why it’s great to have feedback… it’s hard to be your own judge sometimes.
This is a Sphinx! Yes this is a friend’s cat but I will be visiting her next year so I will have to do another photo session with him!
Irene- I couldn’t crop the pole out with out cropping his ears and I want to keep those but what do you guys think of this?
Memphis B&W by mcove26 on Light StalkingIs this the only shot? His facial expression definitely does not correspond with the fact that he was dancing, do you have one with the rest of his body? He is a great subject!! I am left wanting to see the rest of him.
Thanks @Shammy! A friend of mine really likes this photo and I was thinking about making a print for her so I will try to see what I can do! That sounds like an interesting hobby! I was riding my bike one day and decided to go through this cemetery… ideas started to flood my head so I biked home and came back with my camera! Just a really neat place to shoot in my opinion! I am slowly posting any photos I am considering for a portfolio so there will be some from this day!
Indeed there could be more detail in the bells but I really like this! The colors are very pleasing to look at and I could see this hanging up in a cute little hole-in-the-wall country kitchen restaurant! Nice job!
Okay sounds good! Thank you!
I like this but do agree with @ArthurR4 with having something interesting that the subject is looking at. I think even if you do not have something specific, if you moved the left side of the photo to the right we could even feel him looking or in deep thought which would make it interesting.
@Shammy thank you, it is actually a cat! As far as the contrast goes I was hoping for a mysterious side, but if it doesn’t work then I know for the future.
@Nikon-Nut I wish I had thought of that! So with less zones covered this type of lighting would work?Okay yea I think the light is in the wrong place. I am not level on purpose. I can see how this doesn’t work… thank you.
I agree… I would like to be able to see the eyes because it adds so much when you can see the eyes. I also think that it would be more powerful with a darker background. Love the wet curly coat and the dog’s expression! Nice!
Thank you StefB, I see what you are saying!
Falx- That means a lot to me, honestly! I am not being downhearted because I know that all of this will just help me to become the photographer I want to be! This is my first time ever putting my work out there so it’s all good!! I love constructive criticism! đŸ™‚
