Wonderful mood, really like the black water too, makes the image that much more haunting. Well deserved
Thats very nice, pleasing symmetry and colours.
Thank you so much for your kind words
just realised, had my monitor on full brightness, so it’s probably a bit darker than I would have liked…maybe.
Just finished with the final edit,
I really struggled with this, and tried out many of the suggestions above, I think in the end, I leaned most toward Rob’s suggestion as it was the closest in line with my original vision. It was a tough call, and perhaps its the photo that has made rack my brains more than any others I have taken. But in the end I think I am happy with my final edit, off course this is the shark tank and so please feel free to critique:
Thank you for all your wonderful feedback
Love this abstract. Blues and yellows with hints of oranges and reds and the angular mosaics. Love it
Thank you so much.
I like the squares/rectangles that are a theme in this shot. Maybe add more saturation to the man’s shirt and lift the shadows very slightly from his shirt area.
Thank you all so much for the positive responses and suggestions. I am battling with flu at the moment, but I will definitely take on board your suggestions and post the reworked version here. I had also bracketed the shot, although it wasn’t required as the dynamic range was good enough and so I might play with a HDR version.
I really like the idea of a square crop as well as making it into an abstract, however when I showed it to my sister who is a Lord of the Rings fan, she immediately said ‘Lothlorien, please print it for me’, which kind of was my initial idea behind the shot. As Robert said, I think the image can represent multiple moods so will see.
Thanks Rob, will defo check it out
Thanks for suggestions. will defo try out.
I’m not sure when I copy and paste my link from Flickr onto here, the image doesn’t show unless you click on the link. It’s odd because in the Shark Tank, it works fine that way. Can anybody help?
Regards

This is the same deer from the picture I submitted earlier, albeit before the sun had fully risen and while there was still plenty of mist around. I think it fits into the red and gold challenge

Thank you for your kind words Bobbie, much appreciated. Yes it is a Red deer.
Thanks for the feedback and agreed that Lenny’s edit is great as well as the crop. As I recall, I metered and focussed on the face of the nearest person. I got on the escalator, saw the writing, and all the commuters standing on the right. I took a few average shots, went down and up the escalators again and waited to the left. Took a few shots of the commuters looking away, i think it is then they noticed me standing on the left – hence the stares and I was lucky enough to take the pic at the right moment.
Thank you for the kind words
