Hi Steve
I quite agree with your statement “Donāt discount the ābelief that everything has something to sayā.
That is a part of the problem. I see things of interest everywhere. The difficulty is communicating that interest to the viewer, especially when you cannot articulate the reason for your interest.
However, I also see your point that a review of your own work over time can perhaps make that vision clearer later.
Thanks for all the helpful comments
Great pictures. Really sharp and well composed.
Sorry for the late reply Steve, yes in the UK. Just starting to get cold here.
Frank, it was quite light in the cafe and I supplimented that with a fill in flash (on camera).
December 4, 2022 at 5:37 am in reply to: Weekly Photography Challenge #620 Using Monochromatic Colours! #507513I would agree with the other comments. Definately a keeper, but some further dodge and burn needed to get the best out of it.
I have to agree with Robert. It is about communicating the extraordinary that is in almost everything in a way that shows it to others. Of course that does sometimes mean that they actually have to LOOK! Few people do that these days so many of the photographs I love others do not and I think that is because sometimes they do not look.
Well done Michael. Great work
Gives a very dreamy effect. Difficult to control the density though!
Hi Robert, I would agree. I always like to try and get something different or unusual. As an amateur I don’t have to please anyone else so have that luxury!
If it doesn’t work at least I hopefully learn something.
I think it is a stunning picture. I must try and emulate it one day.
I think the new crop is better.
Thank you all for your comments
It’s beautiful isn’t it. Love the contrast in colours between the flower and the foliage.
Thanks Steve. I will have a look at that YouTube channel.
I hate turkeys, but you have made this one look quite hansome!
I think Frank hit the nail on the head. The reason for the picture (of a very interesting subject) is not clear. If you indentify the primary purpose of the image then the question of how to crop would be easier. It’s what you leave out that is important. Get rid of anything that does not contribute to your intention. If it was the peeling paint work, get in closer, if it was the broken state of the building crop more around that. Maybe….
Good picture though.
Thank you
One scary dude! Nice shots.
