I’ve been out shooting at night in preparation for a few outdoor low light workshops I’ve signed up for. Here are a couple of shots I’m sort of happy with. As a new photographer this exercise has pushed me to become more familiar with my camera’s settings which has given me a better understanding of the exposure triangle. I’m getting there, but I’ve still got a long way to go. My post skills are still pretty weak. I’d really like to see some of your shots on the subject.

Hi Dan, great to participate in this workshop.
Your images are really nice in color and sharpness. That Low light photography part you have in the pocket.
For the architecture part, you may consider renting/loaning a tilt-shift lens. In your images, the buildings all fall, and that is not great architecture photography. Or choose a subject where that part doesn´t matter.Your half way. Well done.

Thank you, Erik. I’ve got two workshops coming up, both shooting downtown LA at night. So, I’m sure the tilt-shift lens will be discussed. Thanks for the tip.

It´s been a long time since I´ve been at night in downtown LA (As a matter of fact,
It´s been a long time since I´ve been to LA. )
Would to go back and see how it´s now. Maybe someday….
Great locations for your project/workshop!

Thank you, Beaky. Not bad for an old dude wear’n glasses in the dark, right?

Allows Edits? Yes@dan-f Nice light indeed, it really brings out the details out from the structures and even feel like they are trying to tell us a story of some kind!

Thank you, Federico. The gamble house has actually told many stories, as it has been used in dozens of movies in its over 100 years of existence. It is a indeed photogenic. Even more so at night, I think.
