Thanks @caimi!
Nottinghill used to have a large ‘Afro-Caribbean’ presence, not so much these days but the neighborhood still hosts Europe’s largest street party with floats and costumes like Mardi-Gras or Brazil’s Carnival.
I tried to update the Flickr file with an updated version but I fear I’ve broken the link again.

@caimi I guess you are getting some of our weather then! When I lived back in the mid-west a window a/c was mandatory! Fall is just around the corner which means football, snow and crappy weather. It is a time for us to get out of our homes after staying in all summer.
Lenny @el-dub I am not so sure I see some of the mentioned (magentas??…[Read more]

Hey Andre @capetown99 I like this b&w. I agree with @caimi that you can do a bit more to enhance your image. One easy and quick way to separate black and whites is to add a gradient map adjustment layer. If you click on the little eyeball it will show you just how much you have changed.
Nice image though Ande.Check It Out

Thanks @caimi!! I really, really appreciate your kind words! I make a point of visiting several car shows a year here to get enough shots into the bucket so I can eek them out over the coming months when those cars are safe and sound, locked up tight in their garages. I love the challenge of shooting car shows; when I have a full session with a…[Read more]

Thank you my friends, @tersha, @nikon-nut and @caimi! My goal in processing (everyone’s goal I suppose) was to bring the image as close to what I saw and experienced. The color barely needed any tweaking. Sadly, the lens can’t capture the heart, but we can try our best. đŸ™‚Check It Out

The smaller version here has a “Star Trek-ish” look to it! Like a small solar system amongst the trees. Either that or I have had to much tea today. The crispness on the larger image is nice. Well done @caimi!Check It Out

@caimi Abiding by the rules here have been over-discussed in the past but they are the rules of the game and if one doesn’t want to abide by them why not either change the rules of the game or find another game to play that has rules you like? In fact the rules are what draw many people to this forum. Ridiculous or not. It would have been…[Read more]

@caimi initially I had a Pentax K-r after a photographer friend of mine recommended the Pentax brand and it had some good reviews over a similar spec Nikon, obviously I bought lenses so I’m pretty much tied to the brand. Having said that the K-3 has had some really good reviews and I think Pentax are starting to compete with Canon and Nikon up to…[Read more]
