Thanks for the feedback everyone. Im gonna try focus stacking next time I see a dragonfly or a bug.
I’m facing the same issue with my macro lens as well. Its really difficult to get focus on the small stuff without a blur due to hand shake.
Im not really sure if I can use a tripod here. I do have one but the dragon fly was at ankle level and my tripod does not go that low. I do not have rails as of now.
Thanks a lot. Im starting off with this lens.
Tamron AFF017C700 SP 90mm F/2.8 Di VC USD 1:1 Macro
Lets see how it goes.
I think I get it. I need to go for a shallower DOF lens. That will allow me to go nearer the object without losing focus. I can do the same by getting a longer lens which will also achieve a shallow DOF but with the option of staying farther away.
Extension Tubes – Will look into it.
Thanks a lot.
Not sure if this is a new bug – but I just posted a photo and the timestamp read 2:30 AM. Its 12:27 PM where I’m from actually. Timezone’s not considered?
Oh I just realized that the photo should have a bug and a bud… I just read it as bugs…

https://imgur.com/a/K2zKKzrI dont want to crop the curve of the road. Buildings I dont mind as long as its not partial. The only building in contention for me is the one in the bottom middle part.
Are the buildings important? – Yes. I feel it adds to the way life is lived in a valley
Is it vital to show the tops of the mountains along the sides? – Yes. To put the valley in context
Why was the road important? (I think it is important) – I think so too…
Is it doing what you want it to do? Yes.I have achieved what I set out to achive. The only thing distraction I feel is the building I mentioned. I can retouch it I guess. Cropping it removes a portion of the road that is curving at the bottom and then the image feels lopsided.
I will try what beth said. i.e to clone out the building in question for me.
Thanks for the edit, but I feel those right mountains are really needed.
Sorry. But this crop feels too confined. I tried a crop too
Also tried flipping it as @bucweet mentioned with the same crop. I agree the flip feels more eye-catching.
Take a look
The out of focus head was intended actually. Doesnt work?? I wanted to focus on the eye more.
I have added one more pic below where the entire face is more focused.
Ill try. I thought based on the rule of thirds, the upper right intersection was the most noticed. Is this wrong?
It was tame. I was as close as I can hold my hand to my face.
I have multiple shots with the full face in focus too. But wanted to try one with just the eye in focus.
Heres one more
Same Exif
Thanks for the feedback. You’re right. I will try it
Horizon Straightening – Got it.
Blasting out the color??? You mean its too much color??
Thanks for the tips.
Cool… thanks for the replies..
Thanks for the pic reference. Lovely edits. Just out of curiosity.. in the first edited pic.. are the lines part of the pic or were they added in by you.??
