    They don’t make ’em like they used to! Something about old lenses which gives them a unique ability to capture the light differently somehow. This is a simple shot yet visually appealing because of it’s depth. Federico’s term ‘dreamy’ is bang on.

  This shot was taken at the beginning of our Texas “Deep Freeze” last winter in Dallas when our state’s whole electric power grid failed and we lost power and heat for days in subzero weather. Somehow the bird’s tiny footprints imprinted in the snow next to the snow-dusted leaves warmed my heart. A tender moment in the middle of a real challenge, this image rather reminds me of Robert Frost’s poem, “A Dust of Snow.” Fortunately, we did better than most since we had a gas stove and a decent supply of firewood.
