Well, those patterns play games with my eyes, that’s for sure! 🙂
Interesting display of these animals’ patterns – and to think these patterns are like finger prints – no two are the same!

Allows Edits? YesSpending the night in the hospital, so I had to edit out the blue carpet on this pic. on my 2.5 inch phone screen it’s kind of bumpy but so is riding in one of these, something I did far to often in my youth. Took this at a car show a while back.

Didn’t see the silhouette of the bug until after I looked at this photo on my computer screen. So it was luck, rather than timing. Taken with my mobile phone so pardon the ‘noise’ but I thought it is an interesting BW photo. That bug wanted to be in the photo, but was kinda shy as he hid behind the petal.

March 11, 2016 at 3:35 am #223321
Well, the car is black, the snow is white and the mountains are in the mist so they are a shade of grey. True, the mountain has a tint of brown and the air light blue color cast.
The only part that has real color is the yellow license plate.

March 12, 2016 at 5:04 pm #223486
My biking days are over after a severe motorcycle accident in 2012 in Germany. One month in the hospital in Germany and after that one month medical rehabilitation in Germany. After that a few month getting back on my feet in Holland. All in all, I have been out of work for 7 – 8 months. Self-employed as I am, I cannot afford that another time. No work, no money. That’s why we chose our new arrangement and riding this convertible is fantastic.

Allows Edits? YesIt looks like fun. Sorry to hear about your accident. I have a pal who lost a leg from MRSA after a biking accident, below the knee. He still rides, and changes gear with a hand control. He does track days. One day he had a smash on the circuit, and his false leg flew into the pits, causing great consternation… He enjoyed confusing my children when they were younger by wearing his foot the wrong way around. boys will be boys. your smash sounds bad. Glad you are still around to share your work and wisdom!

Allows Edits? YesA new twist to ‘really black and white’… I’m using this little baby camera all the time. And it will be 2 months before I find out if it works at all! Great little camera though, really recommend it if anyone wants to try a fully manual range finder for street…. (Topic of the day / month / year??). Really well designed for it. All the controls are visible looking down on the camera when held at waist height, light meter on top, shutter speed on the left, aperture on the right, focus, well, where you would expect it to be. Only just bigger than the roll of film – box for scale shown. I’m told you can push Tri-x – never ever tried it before…. No idea what results to expect, but shooting this 400 at 800 and see where it ends up. As ever any advice welcome, but perhaps that’s a topic for another thread.
-
March 16, 2016 at 6:45 pm #224053
Hi Chris,
Seeing that camera again makes me smile and a little sad. My father used to have it and I made quite a few photo’s with it.
Great little camera. When my father bought a new camera, my brother took this one. So far no problem. But after a few years he gave it away to a neighbor (instead of asking me!).You can easily push Tri-X one stop. It has a very nice grain.
Wish you lots of fun shooting and developing (and printing!)>
As you have read, don’t expect me to give any printing advise. 🙂-

Allows Edits? YesWe have something in common. I bought the camera because it is the same type my dad had. Doing the ‘have you met’ interview reminded me of it, and with eBay these days… it is only a moment from the thought to the purchase. I’m not ready for my own developing yet… But maybe later!

Allows Edits? YesWell some great responses to the throwdown, thanks for picking up the gauntlet everyone. Robert and his cop car get the prize for speed – and getting the topic! Kent gets the prize for utility, with his street shadow BW. Something bugs me about Beth’s :). Boston is bright and I like the starkness of Rob’s slow growers. Eric has lots but continues to see what I would walk straight past, with the bow of the boat. I like that. Nancy your bird looks chilly and I hope you were wrapped up warm. Tersha I hope no Zebras were harmed in the making of your guitar! It’s been fun, thank you. If there is one that I would love to be able to do, despite it being a million miles from my style, it would be Chrissie B flower. That has a delicacy and fine art feel I would love to master. Thanks again everyone.

Here’s a self portrait I shot the other day playing around with long exposure using 2nd curtain flash. Kind of looks like a composite or double exposure. But this is a 1.3 second shot. I used this in a Long Exposure competition at our local camera club. I called it “Inner Conflict”

Stormy afternoon and evening, but the sun had the last say as it broke through the clouds near end of day. This is the view off my deck, black and white seemed the way to show it off nicely. And a serendipitous moment appeared when I signed on here and found “black and white” near top of the forum page.
True to my word, last Sunday I dusted off my oldest IR converted camera (an old Sony cybershot), charged up the battery and had at it a few times this week. (boy does my brain hurt now, had to remember all the IR conversions stuff after not touching it nigh on 2 years). But I’M BACK!
