Thanks @parhampbaker @caimi @tersha for the comments.
I will experiment with ISO and a faster shutter speed when holding.
Ricoh GR is a very nice APS-C Compact. My skills just doesnt do justice to the camera possibilities.
I just rolled out from a Canon 60D and would recommend Ricoh to everyone who needs a second (more portable) friend…[Read more]

many thanks to all of you for your valuable input.
Thanks, now I learnt tthat too. :o)
One thing I’m a bit concerned is, that in my perception, there is a bit to much blue in the pic. Dont know whether this was the WB or the clouds were actually like this.Check It Out

Well if this is typical of the shots you are taking now, @dwr857 then you have improved dramatically in those 5 months.
I might be able to pick up a few niggly things if I saw the full size, but I am struggling to find anything to criticise with this shot. Maybe chopping the top of the trees? (That’s a stretch)
Maybe it would be nice to…[Read more]

@pmarione I have lightened the shadows more although I think the sunset has lost its intensity in the process. I think this shot has had enough time spent for now – need to move on to the next one! However, I understand where you were coming from and appreciate your suggestions. @gmkennedy and @parhampbaker your suggestions are also very helpful.…[Read more]

Hi @parhampbaker
I used the L-cut black papers years back on film prints-you probably right-they will work also on PC screen.
After additional examination of my shot I thing that the major problem is the lacking of propper focus on the main leaf-it’s shot in-house-so I would try to recompose it. Thanks to all for the help !Check It Out -

Thanks @parhampbaker for your interest in salvaging my photo (so you’re familiar with that spot?) I did see the crop you did before you removed it. I don’t know… I just feel a lot of what I thought was the purpose of the capture was lost. It became as another mentioned above ‘just a bunch of boats’ đŸ˜‰ I do agree that the buildings on the left…[Read more]

@parhampbaker. Thanks for the suggestions. The crop looks good, but the image is pretty grainy. I’ll play with it more but it’s not post worthy right now. I am also still trying to figure out specific touch ups in light room. Is there a trick to knock off the glare? Thanks, Happy New Year!Check It Out

Thanks @parhampbaker. I have wanted to try this for a while and decided to invest the time to teach myself how to do this. I like the way it came out. Now I have to use restraint so I don’t do everything like this! AND a Happy New Year to you!Check It Out

I think the lighting @parhampbaker is talking about is the reflection of the light off the skin of the fruit. But I kind of see what he means by the depth pf field between the fruit and leaves. I wonder if it’s just that the leaves are getting somewhat lost in the background. Check It Out

@parhampbaker had a brillant cropping idea.
I would try increasing the contrast slightly and decreasing the yellow cast of the sky. Check It Out -

@capetown99, this is a much better photograph in terms of composition and in conveying the ‘daring fisherman’ image than your previous upload. The angle from which it is shot makes good use of the evening light and the golden tones it adds into the photograph. There appears a slight cyan cast on the image (color correcting it with the Levels…[Read more]
