This is a very solid shot – one small thing for me would be to slightly dampen the saturation of that green tree branch on the right as it is a (minor) competitor for attention. Pretty small gripe though.
Would love to see some more of your wildlife shots @rennisk

Thanks @rennisk.
I’m really not a fan of the whole “smoothed skin” look unless the subject has truly poor skin, covered in pimples or something. In this case also I think it would be impossible to smooth her skin without smoothing the painted areas as well which would just ruin them in my opinion.
Apart from that though, I am really glad…[Read more]

I agree with @rennisk, a wider crop makes the area seem much more expansive, and reduces the attention on the mostly dull sky. However you lose the grass in the foreground which has great texture and colour, IMO. I’d possibly split the difference and try a 3:2 crop.

The orange sky is good, but I don’t like the blue mountain. Did you try to lighten up the foreground? It would be nice to see what it would look like when you can see some detail in the foreground. I like @rennisk‘s crop, except for the blue mountain.

That’s a beautiful and unique sunset. I have a strong affection for the Kootenays, I think you have captured it beautifully.
I am not sure I agree that your primary subject is the mountain, but I do think that @rennisk s edit does improve the composition.
Cheers.

I agree with @rennisk.
Smaller aperture and longer exposure to smooth out the water. And maybe a tiny bit less saturation. The Yellow/Reds look a little over saturated. Did you increase the saturation in post?
