Tell us a little about yourself and your photography journey.
I’m from Brisbane Australia where I work full time and am a mother to two small children. I’ve always had a passion for photography, but not until the last couple of years have I really taken it up as a hobby.Where do you live?
Brisbane AustraliaWhat are your hobbies and interests?
Photography is my main interest – I don’t have a lot of time to add much else, although I do try from time to time to get fit.How long you have had an interest in photography?
I’ve been interested in photography for as long as I can remember. I did a photography course at the local college when I was about 15 with my film SLR given to me by my Great Aunt. What got you interested in photography?
I find photography one of the most fulfilling things in my life – at times it’s almost mediative and mindful. I look at things differently physically, and also emotionally. What is the best advice you received so far regarding photography?
Never stop learning. It’s not just relevant to photography, but to everything in life. How do you maintain inspiration?
I quite often struggle with motivation, so I use daily/weekly challenges I find on the internet as a way to keep inspired. What is your favourite subject to shoot and why?
I love to shoot everything and I don’t have a favourite – I guess because I’m still very much learning I haven’t found a niche.Do you have a favourite type of photography?
I love all types of photography.
(B and W, Macro, Landscapes, Astrophotography, etc.)How would you describe your photographic journey to date?
When I was a teenager I attended a film photography course at the local college, and when I was in my late teens I studied film and television with with a photography component. I let go of the hobby for many years and got back into it several years ago when I did a course with a well known Australian Photographer on the Sunshine Coast. Since then, I use websites such as Lightstalking, and other sources, to help with my knowledge. Are you currently involved with any photography projects? If so, what?
I am doing a 52 week photography challenge, however I lost my way at about week 26 and need to get back on board. If you could only use one camera/lens combination for a year, which would you choose?
I’ve only ever used a Canon camera so I have no real comparison! My favourite lens is my 50mm, but after doing some landscape photography I’m learning to love the 24mm.What is your favorite image right now?
This image caught my eye recently and stayed in my memory http://www.anka-zhuravleva.com/color-tales.html (first image)
Is there a photographer that inspires you?
A photographer called Anka Zhuravleva I follow on Instagram – I find the images so appealing. http://www.anka-zhuravleva.comWhat is your biggest challenge when it comes to photography?
Staying motivated and feeling ‘good enough’Is there anything specific you intend to learn or improve in your photography?
After a recent holiday I’ve realised I’d love to do some travel photography and photojournalism. If people want to follow more of your work where should they go?

I just found this site today after reading a Facebook post. I thought it would be USA based as I am currently in the USA for the last few weeks and thought Facebook was geolcatining me. But to see your post saying you were from Brissie along with the admin what a small world so am I.

Allows Edits? NoYay! Go Brisvegus! I also thought it would be mostly USA based. Do any of you belong to photography groups in Brisbane?
Thank you so much for featuring me this week – I’m so excited! I’m usually lurking around looking at pics. I’ve posted a few times in the shark tank and I’ve gotten super useful feedback.

Allows Edits? YesHi, Cornelia. I love your image on Flikr/Instagram of the little red-head amidst the massive tree roots. And beautiful pregnancy photos. The light on the beach is wonderful in your middle photo here! Thanks for sharing. And also thanks for the link to Anka Zhuravleva. Cheers, Anne

I am also Brisbane based Cornelia. I am a member of a few meetup groups, but rarely active due to work & family commitments. Will be looking for some photo-buddies to do some light-painting with the pixelstick when time permits.
For those not familiar with pixelstick – you can check it out here. http://www.thepixelstick.com/ -

Really nice to read your story, Cornelia. I have only visited Brisbane once for a couple of days (en route to Cairns) from NZ but it is a lovely city. The architecture is really good.
