Rob, I like it. Although I should call the image Black Tulip instead of Tulip BW.
I like the black tulip against the light background. That works well.
What does not work for me is that the stem is a bit lost. And because of that, I don’t quite see it as a tulip. (Not because it doesn’t look like a traditional tulip)
I have no suggestions on how to fix that.
But I like the image! -
I agree with Erik, I like this “black” tulip too. Great shot! Just curious, what were it’s original colors? And one more question. Do you shoot in color then convert to BW or just shoot BW? It’s interesting to me how some color combinations seem to work better in BW (like red/yellow or red/green). Or at least it seems that way to me.

the top is distracting with the disconnected bright spots. there aren’t any other little light blobs, so they stand out even more. the stem disappearing doesn’t bother me until the bottom of the frame where it stands out more. other than that, looks good.

In all honesty i am not a fan of the background at all , but you nailed the flower head , lovely job on that for me , The background i think needed less DOF and much more out of focus it competes too much with the main subject being Brighter then darker then brighter.
