Wow, thanks! My first foray into the TANK and the sharks aren’t too hungry! OK, going back thru the comments…@rickshep, even with the first one blown out, I liked it better cuz it looked kind of “grunge”…not a vignette freak, maybe just a little heavy on the slider (using it to try and eliminate junk in the corners?); on the second post, I for…[Read more]

@bgag29 Realistically that size restriction will remain until the site gets entirely redesigned.
I would suggest using and embedding your Flickr images so that folks can click through to see the larger size.Check It Out

@falx sorry to read that you’re thinking of bailing out. I’ll surely miss your pics & crazy attitude. Don’t go man. If you don’t get enough feedback then so what. People go & return all the time (well, I do!) so we’re not always around when some pics are posted and by the time we return, they’re off the radar already.
I find the pic a little…[Read more]

Thanks @bgag29, I appreciate the advice. i like what you have done, the colour is enhanced but still conveys the mood. I was worried that too much sharpening would make it look over edited but I like the kind of grittiness it gives it..Check It Out

Thanks for the feedback @falx and @bgag29. I am going to use your suggestions to crop the image before I print. I knew I needed some feedback on composition.
@bgag29 – I am relatively new to photography, and very new to Macro photography, so I have to study a bit more to truly understand how to improve the “bokeh.”
Thanks again for…[Read more]

@bgag29 I do not know why but when I crop in the right (metal gate) I feel something strange in the image. It seems the old lady do not have space to walk. Anyway, thanks for the tips!Check It Out

@bgag29 I agree with your comments, that was initially what I loved about this image in B&W & I think that’s the reason I pushed the image a bit far, I love that eery sky.
I didn’t use the burn tool as I am a bit hit & miss with that, instead I added a mas…[Read more] -

@bgag29 I downloaded it and did the same thing, Ran it to the middle of the mural face, tried to keep the aspect ratio so had to chop off a little of the bottom, but kept her feet. Cleaned it right up.Check It Out

@bgag29 I think you are correct on the crop suggestion. I just looked at it with my hand blocking to simulate your crop and I agree. I am usually terrible at suggesting a good crop and I think it shows in some of my pics.Check It Out

Hey thanks @pinotguy.
@bgag29 no clouds is a constant problem for photography in the desert. Out skies look like this 85 to 90% of the year. The reason you do not see more detail is that there was a haze back there. I was going to use my cpl but wanted also to catch the light going to dark from the top of the hills up. The cpl wanted to…[Read more]

I have the same opinion as what @bgag29 has mentioned. Truly speaking, it happens where the author gets swept away by the fancy comments, ” fabulous shot”, fantastic, great etc.. . That does not help him/her to improve their shots but rather stay where they are. Stagnant. All the seven points that he has pointed out truly sticks by the rules.…[Read more]

Thanks @bgag29 and @peters for your time spent and advice.
Well Brian and Peter, isn’t it just that, that makes our love for what we do so interesting. The difference in opinions and yet both can give a good picture. Peter, I think I’ll go with you. The photo is primarily a sunset photo on the beach. Yes, the child may be the focus point, but…[Read more]
