thank you Federico!
Patrick, I added some texture to the window and it works. Thanks!
Diane, I usually lean toward BW but the colors so work well here.
BW?
Duncan, good to hear from you amigo! No focus, contrast or subject… so what’s new?
Hi Patrick! Good idea to show a little more of whence they came from. As you said, the sweet spot is 90 degrees from the camera for the best blur effect. I know I need to follow through. I was never much good a golf either. Everything I can shoot like this is in very crowded conditions so getting down on one knee could be a problem. I have a huge memory available so I tend to spray and pray. Thanks for the comments!
DavidC, Howdy! I have a question. You said to your use 1/125. I use1/25 or even slower which I thought would blur the BG. Everything I have ever learned is that slower is better but you suggestion sounds interesting and might help bring into focus some of the subjects moving parts. Thanks!
Rob, I just looked at this on my hugo monitor and I think the sky and the whole thing looks really good as is. Like Erik’s better small. There must be something with the stars for the Australia question. If you posted it upside down…
This is nice. Those little fluffy clouds on the horizon are a bit of a distraction. I like Erik’s sky treatment but would remove the fluffy clouds. I don’t agree about needing a subject and like the minimalist look.
Erik, I would love to do film but it’s difficult to do where I live in Mexico. I have a whole set of Hogla lenses for Canon and really enjoy them.
Thanks for the comments group! For me anyway using a pinhole lens or simulating one is not about technical perfection but an imperfect feel.
I am, I have a holga pin hole lens that fits on my Canon camera I think I’m going to pull it out and use it some for a new challenge. There’s just something that feels wicked about putting a 10 or $15 lens on a $2,000 camera.
I don’t care how your crop it or technical you get. IMHO your telling a story which is what street photography is all about. I’m just happy to see some photos with people in them in the ST!
Hi Erik, I like this a lot but would like an obvious focal point for my eye to rest on.
Diane, the story of my life, unbalanced. Thanks!
This has more light than most of your shots and I like it. I agree with the above about the blue.
PHOOEY!!!
Diane I will shoot it again and see how that looks.
Dahlia, there is an ugly park bench in the foreground. Maybe a linear gradient to darken or blur the bottom?
I prefer the one on the right for all of the above reasons plus after covid I don’t care for any kind of mask.
the stabilization on the new canon mirrorless is fantastic. Nice shot!
I would say abstract for BW. BW is already abstract.
Oh no! I just converted from gas to induction.
