I tried processing this to look like I used a pin hole lens.  Heavy vignette and lots of grain.  I have one but it is quite difficlult to use as the f-stop is something like f 50 and I don’t usually carry a tripod on a photo walk.

isn’t that the stuff that made people go crazy and turn into reavers in firefly?

good tones great textures, love the gritty feel.  the vignette (or shadow?) is a little heavy handed at the bottom and left and not heavy enough on the right side where the bricks are drawing the eye off to the edge.

          the verticals need straightened.

I really like the feel of this. I also don’t think the vignette helps a lot or maybe should be lightened some. The step at the bottom is a little distracting for me. All in all, a stunning image and my negatives are likely to be matters of taste.

I really like this Lenny, I’ve just Googled Pinhole camera images, and the vignette looks pretty much like the ones on those.

Thanks for the comments group! For me anyway using a pinhole lens or simulating one is not about technical perfection but an imperfect feel.

I am, I have a holga pin hole lens that fits on my Canon camera I think I’m going to pull it out and use it some for a new challenge. There’s just something that feels wicked about putting a 10 or $15 lens on a $2,000 camera.

Hi Lenny, it’s either putting a $15 lens on a 2k $ camera or buying a $30 Holga 120N and some analog 120 film.  I can promise you, that is fun to do.

Erik, I would love to do film but it’s difficult to do where I live in Mexico.  I have a whole set of Hogla lenses for Canon and really enjoy them.
