Thank you @jackal187 I cloned out the shadow and done a little burning, what do you think? Or should I keep the shadow and lighten it up more?

@jackal187 I am not sure it works, but I think it’s probably something worth experimenting with in future. Abstract shots are a little personal and very hard to critique. Check It Out

Hi @jackal187, @ashjob, @tobiepsg, thanks for the feedback.
But when i tried to expose the wording, the sky n building gets blown out.
Can i say that a HDR would be better for this kind of photo?

@jackal187 IM(amateur)O try a full B&W but instead of full colour flags, use the desat flag colours. The full B&W of all the other elements should provide a great contrast and the desat flag colours keep the scene somber and should not overpower the remainder of the elements. I am not a PS user, but the layers function should enable you to do…[Read more]

I agree with @admin assessment that the blacks are a bit blocked. I also agree with @jackal187 assessment that the background is blurred. But I think both add to the sense the photographer was trying to convey. If she was trying to only document of this scene she could lighten the foreground and shoot at a smaller aperture to get the background…[Read more]

Thanks for the feedback @jackal187. Good question on the focal point. I was actually drawn to to the color on the water as it led to the Louvre. The building was almost incidental. That’s why the foreground is all about the water. I have another shot with more of the building but the reflections are not as dominant so I choose this one.Check It Out

‘I have been obsessed lately as the pic shows. I know the lighting is a little off but I couldn’t use a flash for this one. I did add a cooling filter to counteract the yellowness of the light and the walls.

Hi Graeme, my challenge with the pic is that it does not showcase the city part. You have a great composition, love the lines from the pier in the foreground, love the big sky – great depth through the gorgeous clouds, but the city part is kind of pushed to the back and not quite clear (maybe the problem of the small post rules). I think the city…[Read more]
