This is really nice, Lenny. How’d you get the egret to cooperate?

Everything is working perfectly Lenny great subject nice composition and send a thank you to that big bird cos he makes the shot for me. Now I would take it back into the darkroom and process it again. Its too bright and harsh. Just needs fine tuning.

Allows Edits? YesI absolutely love the reflections in the water Lenny, in fact to me they are the main attraction. I don’t think the background land mass is a required element in this pic either. A quick edit with some cropping, vignette and softening…

Like what you did there Graham. Tell me how you did the softening…

Allows Edits? YesAfter the crop, I dodged the reflections a little to make the poles pop a bit more, lightened the bird, darkened the boat, added a vignette then applied a Topaz B&W preset which basically reduced the contrasts in the pic to give it a silkier look.

Allows Edits? YesHi Lenny, I really like the image and its composition. I would like to see the image cropped so it stays without the sky and the little bit of the mountain. Not sure what you think 🙂

Nice Lenny. Erik’s version is what I would do. It keeps the feel of the hard sunshine and adds the space you were looking for on the right.
If it were me, I think I would have used f/11 to get the ISO down as it’s a bit noisy. It would have been closer to the lens sweet spot too but hey that’s just me.

Allows Edits? YesLenny, the only thing bothering me is the signature… You are evolving into a great social photographer. The composition here is extremely pleasant, and the heron gives it a fantastic touch.
All the post-processing suggestions are valuable, but honestly I would stick to yours, it has more context, and reading it is extremely comfortable.

It’s a shame the taxi driver wasn’t quicker, you might have got your man ‘rowing’ into the picture, rather than out, think you missed the shot by about 10 seconds! Looks like a Real Madrid shirt, so that’s where Christiano is? Otherwise, as always, nice processing!

My crop would be severe, Lenny, might even make you squirm! ….. and I would hate to do that!

Thanks for all of the comments! I want to show the environment so I would not crop out the horizon and mountains. Rob I would never use F18 except I was going between sun and shade and was using the PHD mode, Push Here Dummy. I agree, I like Erik’s and will emulate it.
