i could hear the barking, but couldn’t see them through the sun glare coming off of the ocean.  i scanned around with the sony and was finally able to find the source of the noise.

Really lovely Beth , what time of the day was this it has a lovely calmness about it the sound of the seals would be a bonus with the sound of crashing waves as well i can just hear it now 🙂

thanks patrick.  i was waiting for a sunset that didn’t materialize.  it wasn’t exactly calm out there, the cliffs were right on the highway with cars going by and the waves are louder on the west coast with more wildlife, like the barking sea lions and some birds that feel the need to constantly screech.  give me a quiet mountain any day.

Yeah both have pros and cons 🙂 Living in a very hilly environment sometimes not having hills to deal with and carrying gear up them is nice, when i get the chance to get to the coast i jump at it , i love the hills when we get a little dizzle and some misty days

we have boring flat beaches with no rocks or any other interesting geological features for that matter.  our biggest hills are above ground septic tanks that can’t be underground because it’s built on swamp land.  i love the american west coast where the mountains run into cliffs that drop in the ocean.
