It’s a picture of the 431 Sqn (AD), the Snowbirds, of the Canadian Forces.Β  AD stands for Air Demonstration.Β  They perform with 9 aircraft in ‘full’ formation.Β  During their show routine, they will quite often fly with 7 in formation with 2 ‘solo’ aircraft doing passes in front of the crowd.Β  They also perform manouvres with 3 and 4 aircraft.Β  Their show is usually around 20 minutes with what they call a 7 – 10 split, where there is ‘always’ aircraft ‘in front’ of the crowd.Β  The longest delay between manouvres is 7 – 10 seconds.

This pic really underlines the importance of always looking at things with fresh eyes Elin. To think that I have similar treasure troves of images like this but they languish in boxes in the garage. I really like this image, it’s colour cast, it’s composition and it’s DOF but mainly just it’s beauty and simplicity.

Great overhead shot Pat. Easy to see how the fish’s spots mimic the ripples in the water.Β  Makes me wonder whether or not fish see in colour or B&W?

Just been through a major block myself. Life got in the way for a while. Had to change tack completely and try something new to recharge the batteries. Because I wasn’t contributing regularly, I felt that I shouldn’t post too many comments either which compounded my block and then I realised that one of the main sources of inspiration is LS itself!
