Wow! This has some strong Lord of the Rings vibes being associated to it. Love the colors radiating and bouncing off the photo!
~Sanjeev NandaI’ve read about it only in textbooks until now. They’re not a staple in the tropical belt of India. Amazing what a single, unseemly picture can teach an individual. Thank you once again for this, Dave!

One could even call it an awareness of “Silhouettes” within a shot. It comes from film-making, but has it’s uses in comic books, paintings, and even photography.
I have come to admire the dramatization in silhouettes a great deal recently. They subliminally help one in grasping the eye’s full attention, without the viewer even being aware they’re being ‘reeled in’ (sorry for the pun right there)
Nice! I have never known what lichens looked like in a natural setting. The more you know, I guess!
~Sanjeev NandaCouldn’t help but smile! really loving the composition and blocking on this one. Truly deserving of a winning title.

April 9, 2020 at 5:40 am in reply to: Weekend Photography Challenge #479 Reasons to be cheerful ! #438125The lovers seem to be affectionate to a point of grossly ignoring that a shutterbug has eyes upon them. Really made me happy with this one.

The summery vibe of the Finch, coupled with the winter white are helping bring out the best qualities of both. A wonderful picture!

A picture befitting a movie poster! The light contouring your face truly makes the photo what it is. If you have some more please feel free to share.

Extremely sound advice, i must say. Additionally, there is are loads of teaching aids and resources online (a lot of them, on this particular website). Since your craft is a re-ignition of passion, I suggest you delve into the theory aspect of it all. It’ll no doubt strengthen your foundations.

I love inner-city water channels. There is a sense of unparalleled tranquility to them. The run down, grungy look is doing wonders for the pic. Good choice!

Zoom it to the center right area. Maybe you can highlight the details, while being true to the fundamental silhouettes and blocks that will bring out the picture in a wholesome way.

Tersha, really digging your Macros! This one is amazing as well! The cleanness of the implied skill at hand, contrasts the coarse imperfections of the thread pictured. A great example of ‘contrast-ing ideals’. if you will. Well done!

Oh Wow! Did you click this yourself, or is that you in the costume? Amazing click, and very in-character to the Caped Crusader.
~Sanjeev NandaThis picture is the ‘frog’ version of a pop-star wearing edible stuff as designer-wear. Katy Perry, who?
My man really went all out with this challenge. I was going to post a picture of my shower-curtains, but Click right here blew the competition right of the park!
~Sanjeev NandaPat, this is really something! The meaning goes so much deeper. You should really sell this to a stock photography website or something. It’s honestly iconic.
~Sanjeev NandaWhile your subject matter is no Mona Lisa, your photographic technique really brings him really close nevertheless. The saturation of Black and White makes the picture what it is. THAT, and the absolutely gargantuan violin the gentleman is holding – Kudos to the technique, more than anything.
~Sanjeev NandaHonestly awe-inspiring, Lessa! The colors complement the lighting, and vice versa. The yellow flower is exceptionally beautiful. The inner tendrils, he light pollen, and the soft lighting, really go a long way in making this picture!
It most definitely is, Rob! Although, I must tell you, it’s nearly 3,500 ft above sea level. This is an old picture from my trip to Leh, in Northern India. If I find more pics that are good, I’ll for sure upload them.
