Many of you may have heard of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure charity. They host huge event walks and gatherings in cities all across the US, and in many other places around the world, for breast cancer awareness. Top notch organization – can’t say anything bad about it.
Well get this: Someone called me to be a volunteer photographer for this weekends Komen event here in Raleigh, North Carolina [US]. ‘Huh?’ was the first thing I said, followed by, ‘Why and how did you hear about little old me?’ Apparently, someone has taken a liking to my over-amateur style with other photos of Raleigh on my Flickr page and blog. Go figure. With some luck, I’ll have some close-range photos of 30,000-50,000 walkers in the 5 km race!
