The texture looks OK, in my opinion. It simply makes the photo painterly.

i don’t like the canvas texture either.  b&w is all about texture and tones, the canvas texture detracts from both.  i like the image behind the texture.

I like it, but I have not been around or used textures much so it is a little new to me.

Oh It’s a very deep rabbit hole @r1ch – And it’s extremely fun when you start playing with it. I have a whole folder of images I took ONLY to use as textures. Rock walls, bricks, old graffiti, dried leaves  etc.
