Allows Edits? YesThis reminds me of those places that they send people in the survival show, “Alone”
Gorgeous. But wow, they’re remote.

Allows Edits? YesDo they have problems with Tourists there?
It is very possible to die 90 minutes from Sydney cos you’re bush walking and you have no phone reception in a valley and you get lost or break a leg. And people do every year.

generally not in national parks. it makes national news whenever someone dies at a national park, usually a small handful every year. cell phone coverage is spotty between civilization and the park, but i had pretty good cell service in the park. the roads are narrow, just big enough for two cars to pass each other, most of the pull outs are on cliffs or other natural barriers unless it’s a designated trailhead. oddly enough, crater lake feels like one of the more confined national parks that i’ve been to. somewhere like grand tetons you can walk for a ways in any direction. it just doesn’t seem as possible at crater.

Into, like the second one because of a the better view of the island, but I do like the foreground of the first on. Both are beautiful scenes. (Crater Lake is not very remote which means more people can enjoy it).

thanks frank.
i’d consider it a fairly remote park. there’s not much out there for awhile. the 3 nearest cities are portland, boise (the most remote city in the contiguous us) and san francisco and are all 3-6 hours away. a lot of other parks are only an hour or two from a major city.
