I don’t think black & white does this image justice. Either full colour, even if the image was desaturated a bit.

Perhaps a stem on the apple might add an extra interest point to the apple. What about if just the apple is in color and the rest of the photo in black and white. I think it’s very good composition.

Good ideas above. I’d go for a black background, colour and everything in focus.

love the idea and really eager to see all the above comments implemented. however, would like to know, how at f16, jug behind are thrown out of focus !!! can you please share the camera model and lens used ?
i woudl llike to have apple in darker shade to show the contrast with white jugs behind. or else red apple with rest in BnW will be great, but I donot know if we can do that without photoshop (as I donot use Photoshop), can LR do that ? -

the idea was to create high key image-so the white background ang white jugs. The problem with colour version is that ther is a little difference in white colours in two jugs-so I went to B&W.
out of focos jugs made in post-I’ve tried to shoot with wide aperture but to get an apple all sharp and the jugs completly out didn’t work (probably my fault). -

@veleryp – I think there are some interesting alternatives being offered, but I believe there is more to be got from your initial, high-key idea.
It’s a common misconception that everything in a high-key image is mid-tone or lighter! That gives a very flat image, which works for some subjects but by no means all.
Try increasing the contrast and increasing the exposure value, with the idea that the jugs and base get even lighter, whilst darkening just the shadow side and bottom of the apple. The main part of the apple can also get paler, increasing the contrast with the shadow area. The background behind the jugs would go to flat white if you aren’t bothered about burn-out.You don’t say what editing software you are using, but this is likely to be quite easy to achieve in LR.

Would try making the rear jug lighter and or the middle one darker so the objects all fade from front to back. Think a little more space sides and bottom may look better.

I love your picture as is but for a little increase in contrast on the right side of the apple and maybe a little underlining of the jugs. Very soft.
