These were quite tiny and taken on a macro. GX8.

        What you got?

I would have no idea these are tiny.  The squiggle of black in the background on the right is distracting.I would just try to fill it in with the lighter blurry background. (Clone it ). I miss the cooler!  I do like the detail of the bud.

nice b&w tones on this.  love the light and detail on the end of the stem where the buds begin.  the tonal separation between the stem and flower buds is great, and i like that the background mimics the same tones without the subject blending in.

                  Thanks @loki – I suppose it’s the sharp vs soft 🙂

Hi Rob, I’m not a big fan of flower photos but this is lovely!  I like the pair and having it centered which break a couple of rules.  I like the eye catching black squiggle that Frank mentioned.

I think the petals on the bud are a bit dark. Maybe increasing the luminance a bit will work better. Not sure what you think 🙂

                          Thanks @dahliaambrose

I did actually play with it, but the red of the roses were extremely dark – they were almost at the point in life where they start to wilt. So I kept the tone dark. I might play with it again.
