  I have been planning this shot for a little while, but on the weekend just gone I finally made the time to give it a go. These are composites of two images, both taken by me. Diffraction spikes were added in PP. Happy to hear your thoughts.

    The planet itself is actually a styrofoam ball that I have mounted onto a 8cm tall furniture leg painted matt black. I painted the ball to look a little bit planet-like, stuck a lit sparkler into it and placed it onto a rotating jewellery display stand, opened the shutter on bulb, which set off the flash. After one rotation (20 seconds) I closed the shutter.
