      Well finally got my camera gear dusted off after a long hiatus. I learnt a good lesson – don’t stop taking pics for any reason. Talk about rusty! Tried using Program mode for the first time and failed dismally. My camera decided ISO 6000 was the way to go and gave me a ton of noise as a bonus.

      Saw this beast in the Birdwood Motor Museum. The $2,000,000 Bugatti Veyron;
      0 – 100 kph in 2.46 secs,  408.7 kph top speed and uses 78 litres of fuel per 100 kms at 100 kph speed (think I’ll keep the Mitsubushi I drive for now).

          No,  Bobbie we/he didn’t. It was the largest swap meet, show and vendor sales of antique/classic motorcycle gear and parts in the US. My husband restores classic motorcycles (a lot of 1950s Harley Hummers) as well as some antique bikes (working on a 102 year old Harley at present). So, at meets and shows, his eyes are on one thing and I hunt for things like this. My guess is this ws very old and was likely in a hardware store or garage many years ago.

      And after seeing Graham’s Bugatti, had to counter with one I might likely be able to afford. Handle on a rusting old Dodge Tow truck

        Pat, this image strangely boggled my mind and I love it! Until I read what you wrote I thought I was looking at a life raft on a lake with red reflections of trees (or something else) on the shore. The shoreline is about 1/3 down from the top.

          Yes it is Pat, it’s a Greater Spotted Woodpecker. Here’s another shot from a couple of years ago…

      Last week’s snow storm buried the cars in front of these jelly bean houses in St. John’s Newfoundland. The snow was several feet over the roofs of the cars.

        Thanks Pat, Patrick , and Dave!  I was editing another picture for red when I checked the time.  Inspiration struck.

        As an aside, it was macro-on-a-budget if you want to experiment.  I took the picture through a backwards lens.  So the setup was in this order: Camera with 50mm attached on tripod, 18-55mm backwards (filter ring to camera mount), wristwatch. You move the backward lens in and out to achieve focus. Still need to make a bracket to eliminate the handheldness of everything though.  Things get really shaky after a while.
