Hello everyone, so sorry I have been absent for a while, but life has intruded. Here is a composite image of a series of photos I have taken of one of our grand-children, doing one of her gymnastic routines. Have tried to capture the outcome. However, feel that I could do better! Should I try to photograph without a skirting board in the background? Should she wear something more colourful? A different sequence perhaps? All of these? Have at it sharks! 🙂

this is definitely worth exploring more.

the most prominent pose is the least interesting the the 3 to me.  i’d pick the 2nd or 3rd to be the most prominent.  this sequence makes me want to see the follow through, does she do the hand stand and then back down the way she went up or does she go over backwards?

the baseboard doesn’t bother me except that it has a curve and one of the exposures is slanted.  use a tripod next time so all 3 images line up.  use a longer lens next time to reduce the barrel distortion, or, if you need to use the wide angle due to lack of space, you can fix the curve in your editing software.   leave a little more room at the top so the toes don’t get cut off.

look at your light sources and see if you can even your wb out.  it looks like warm room light to the right and cooler window light to the left.  or go crazy and make it even warmer on one side and cooler on the other.

Wow, beth, some great suggestions, which I will definitely follow through on!  Many thanks indeed!  😀

That’s a fun shot! IMO, with more colorful clothes the photo would be about clothes or you might have her wear black or convert it to BW. I think that the baseboard is a distraction especially on the left side.

It might be fun to try turning the prominent shot into a silhouette?  I hope to see your final decision here.

Hi Jim, this is a very nice work. The shot in the front is not very interesting. I like the second shot more. Yes, you can try shooting without the board as the slanting layer below is distracting 🙂

Thanks @el-dub  Mmm, not sure about the silhouette, but will give it a try, Lenny.

Thanks @dahliaambrose, wow, great spotting re the front shot not being the best, I will definitely look carefully for the best one at the end of my next shoot!

Your thinking about another shoot?  WOW!  I admire you for your patience with the shoot and processing.
